U-18 Varsity

Where Bulldogs prepare for what comes next — OUA, U-Sports, and beyond.

From the Head Coach

A word from Coach Akintade

“We develop athletes and young men ready for the next level. Every rep in practice, every play on the field is preparation for high school football and beyond.” [Draft — pending coach quote]

Rob Akintade — Head Coach, U-18 Varsity

Bench Boss

Building championship habits

Coach Akintade leads a 9-coach Varsity staff that prepares players for the next level — high school football and beyond.

Head Coach

Rob Akintade

Leads the program’s top team, where every install carries through to high school and university football. Rob holds his staff and his players to a Varsity standard — preparation, accountability, and the kind of locker-room culture that makes the difference at the highest level.

Draft — pending coach review

Assistant Head Coach & Co-Offensive Coordinator

Coach Marc

Runs the offensive game plan alongside Coach Ihanza and serves as the staff’s second voice in the room. Marc’s experience as Assistant Head Coach steadies the day-to-day, freeing up the program to operate at game speed all week.

Draft — pending coach review

Co-Offensive Coordinator & Wide Receivers

Brandon Ihanza

Designs the Varsity passing game and coaches the receivers room. Brandon’s dual role across U-16 JV and U-18 keeps the offense aligned through the program — players moving up don’t have to relearn the system.

Draft — pending coach review

Defensive Coordinator & Defensive Line Coach

Coach Phillips

Calls the defense and coaches the d-line — the toughest dual assignment on the staff. Phillips builds his unit on tempo, edge-setting, and a front four expected to win one-on-ones, with a scheme that’s evolved to handle AAA passing attacks.

Draft — pending coach review

Defensive Line Coach

Trevon Halstead

Works alongside Coach Phillips developing the defensive front. Trevon’s group reps technique relentlessly — pad level, hand placement, and counter moves — because at the Varsity level, the snap usually belongs to whoever wins the first contact.

Draft — pending coach review

Running Backs Coach

Nick Park

Coaches the running backs on vision, footwork, and pass protection. Nick’s RBs are expected to be complete three-down players, with the ball security and route polish that earns them snaps in every package.

Draft — pending coach review

Defensive Backs Coach

Coach Poole

Develops the secondary on technique, leverage, and ball skills. Poole’s group lives in the film room as much as on the field, because Varsity offenses test communication and recognition every snap.

Draft — pending coach review

Defensive Backs Coach & Special Teams Coordinator

Raheem Balogun

Coaches the DBs alongside Coach Poole and coordinates the special teams units. Raheem treats every kick and return as a possession of its own — field position is a Varsity battle, and his units are coached to win it every week.

Draft — pending coach review

Offensive Line Coach

Coach Paven

Coaches the offensive line on the technique and physicality required at the Varsity level. Paven preaches violence at the point of attack paired with the discipline to play under control, building linemen ready for what comes after Bulldogs football.
