The People Behind the Bulldogs

100% volunteer-run for 50+ years. Still going.

Every coach. Every game day. Every fundraiser. Every photo. Every uniform repair. Every kid who gets to put on the gold — it all happens because someone gave their time. Here’s how you can join them, and who’s already on the field.

Section 1

What it takes to run a season

The Brampton Bulldogs has been 100% volunteer-run since 1972. No paid coaches. No paid staff. No paid board. Just neighbours who said yes.

[TBD: #] Volunteers in 2026
4 Teams fielded
[TBD: 100+] Players coached
50+ Years volunteer-run

The coach who runs your kid’s position group? Volunteer. The trainer at every Saturday game? Volunteer. The board member booking field permits in February so May practices can happen? Volunteer. The parent driving the equipment trailer? Volunteer. The grad photographer at the banquet? Volunteer.

Every helmet handed out, every snack table set up, every photo taken on the sideline — somebody on this list made it happen. Without volunteers, there is no Bulldogs football.

Section 2

Where you fit

You don’t have to know football. You don’t have to coach. We need help across every part of the program — some roles are seasonal, some are one-day, some are weekly.

01

Coaching & Field

On the field with the kids — from head coach down to position assistants and team managers. Football experience helps but isn’t required for all roles.

  • Head Coach (per division)
  • Position Coach (OL, QB, RB, WR, DL, LB, DB, ST)
  • Team Manager / Liaison
  • Trainer / First Aid

Time: ~6–10 hrs/week during season

02

Game Day Operations

The crew that makes Saturdays happen. No football experience needed — if you can show up and follow a schedule, you can do this.

  • Chains crew (down marker, line-of-scrimmage)
  • Statisticians
  • Equipment manager (sideline gear, water)
  • Game-day photographer
  • Concession / snack table

Time: 3–4 hrs per game, ~8 games/season

03

Communications & Media

The team behind how the world sees the Bulldogs. If you have a phone with a camera and an eye for the moment, you have what we need.

  • Social media coordinator (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)
  • Game-week newsletter / email
  • Photo & video team
  • Web & tech support

Time: 1–5 hrs/week, year-round

04

Events & Fundraising

The crew making sure registration fees aren’t the only thing funding the program. Plan events, run booths, hit up local businesses for sponsorship.

  • End-of-season banquet committee
  • Fundraising events (golf tournament, BBQ, etc.)
  • Sponsor outreach & relationship management
  • Team photo day coordinator

Time: Project-based, a few hrs per event

05

Board & Leadership

The not-glamorous-but-critical roles. Permits, insurance, registrar lists, finances, governance. We’re a registered not-for-profit and we need people who can keep us running like one.

  • Board director (multi-year commitment)
  • Registrar (player registration data)
  • Risk management / safety officer
  • Treasurer’s helper / bookkeeping

Time: ~3–8 hrs/month, year-round

06

Skills-Based / One-Off

Got a skill the program could use? Tell us. Lawyers reviewing waivers, electricians wiring the field, mechanics maintaining the equipment trailer — one-time contributions matter.

  • Legal / waivers / contracts
  • Trades (electrical, mechanical, carpentry)
  • Healthcare / physiotherapy
  • Graphic design / video editing

Time: One-time or as-needed

TBD: Confirm role categories and the specific time commitments. Add or remove roles as needed — this list is a starting point. Also: which roles are highest-priority for 2026 recruitment?
Section 3

Step up

Whether you can give two hours a season or two hundred, we want you on the team. Here’s how to get involved.

Ready to volunteer?

Send us a quick note about what you’d like to do — or even just “I want to help, what do you need?” — and we’ll get back to you in a few days.

Email the Volunteer Team →
TBD: Replace the mailto with the real volunteer-coordinator email (e.g. volunteer@bramptonfootball.ca). Optionally: add a Google Form / TeamLinkt form link as a second CTA.

What happens next

  1. You send us an email. Tell us roughly what you’re interested in — or just that you’re open.
  2. We reply within a few days. Usually a real human, not a form letter.
  3. Quick conversation. Five minutes on the phone or over email to figure out where you fit.
  4. You start. Some roles start immediately, others kick off in pre-season. We’ll match you to the timing.

TBD: Four volunteers confirmed (above). Still needed: the rest of the 2026 roster — coaches across all four divisions, board members, fundraising/banquet leads, photographers, anyone else contributing this season. For each: name, role, and # of seasons with BMFA (optional). Photos can be added later.

Already a 2026 volunteer? If you don’t see your name here, let us know — we want to recognize everyone, and it’s easier than you think to be missed.

Section 5

A note to every Bulldogs volunteer — past, present, and future

You don’t do this for credit. You do it because someone showed up for you when you were 12, or because you saw what playing football did for your kid, or because a coach asked and you didn’t say no.

But credit matters. So here it is.

You are the reason Bulldogs football still exists in Brampton. Fifty years of helmets handed out, fields lined, trailers driven, photos taken, banquets organized, kids drafted, parents reassured, jerseys washed, snacks brought, permits chased, sponsors thanked, mistakes forgiven, and championships celebrated — all of it is you.

The kids see it. We see it. The community sees it.

Thank you. — Brampton Bulldogs Football
